“We love it here and if like us you prefer a less beaten track, we know you'll love it too.”
We’re Kim and Steve - the owners of Casa Mamá Estrella. We live in the house next door with Feli and Tito our two little rescue dogs.
Whilst the two properties share a traditional entrance hall, they are completely independent and private and we are unobtrusive, discreet hosts.
We offer a warm welcome and are usually on hand throughout your stay if you need us. We're always delighted to help.
We provide insider tips on local walks, cycling, beaches, bars and restaurants so that you can make the most of the area without hours of googling.
We are British Europeans, erstwhile salsa dancers, keen campers and animal lovers. We speak Spanish and some French and German. Our Spanish neighbours are cheerful and kind and we are part of our friendly authentic village community.

Before we moved to the valley we lived in the UK and worked full-time for years in various roles. Steve spent much of his day stuck on the M25. Kim was stuck in an office and despite doing good works with lovely people harked back to days as a language assistant in Guadalajara and travel rep in sunny Girona.
We had a lovely cottage garden in Kent but we could only eat outside for a few months of the year and we were fed up walking Cassius our old Weimaraner in the rain.
The thought of our holidays kept us going on dark days and we spent a lot of time in preparation and research to make the most of our time away.
For 10 years we also planned our escape to the sun. We had an impressive must-have list. That's why it took a decade!
Year round sunshine and mild winters ♦ Tranquility and birds ♦ Rural views with orchards and water close by ♦ A property with character, a garden and parking ♦ A pool and outside space for eating ♦ Friendly local community ♦ A bar and shop within walking distance ♦ Good cycling and walking from the door ♦ In easy reach of the Mediterranean sea ♦ Close to a cosmopolitan city
We looked all over Spain.......from Galicia to Granada!
And when we arrived in the Lecrín valley in 2014 we knew THIS WAS THE PLACE. Finding our houses in such a beautiful hidden corner of rural Andalucia was the icing on the cake. Happy days :)
It's a stunning location - off the beaten track but convenient for lots of wonderful and varied days out all year round. We know you'll love it too!
